CLEAN COOK STOVES

In many of the world's poorer regions, families cook their meals over an open fire, often in enclosed spaces. This method of cooking is highly inefficient as large amounts of heat go to waste. Clean cookstoves are often simple devices made from metal or clay that use energy more efficiently. Families can thus save fuel and cut down on CO2 emissions. Sometimes the stoves are even used by small businesses.

Project Executed:

Myanmar Stoves Campaign first of its kind in the country, as of December 2024, the project has covered more than 1200 villages in central part of Myanmar. The co-ordinated action by the three actors in this project has been successful in distributing over 45,000 fuel efficient stoves which have improved the lives of more than 200,000 people.  The Myanmar Stoves Campaign is a programme of the Soneva Foundation and the first Gold Standard certified carbon project in Myanmar.

Solar Home Systems in Lagos - Tranche 1

The project activity involves installation and generation of electricity using renewable energy resources i.e., by using the solar energy (renewable sources) replacing electricity supply from a fossil-fuel dominated electricity, thus leads to reductions of anthropogenic GHG emissions from atmosphere. Hence the project activity is eligible Sectoral scope 1 i.e., energy industries (renewable/ non-renewable sources) under the scope of the VCS Program.
